These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Legaviv mobile application and related services operated by Legaviv (“we,” “us,” or “Legaviv”). By using Legaviv, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Introduction

Legaviv helps you save book discoveries and check availability at selected public library catalogs (currently New York and San Francisco areas supported in the app). Legaviv is provided as a beta product and may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.

2. User Accounts

Legaviv does not require a traditional account with email or password. The app creates an anonymous identifier stored on your device so your shelf can be retrieved. You are responsible for activity associated with that device identifier. You may clear your shelf or reset the anonymous session from in-app Settings when those controls are available. You must be able to lawfully use the app in your jurisdiction and follow any age or parental rules that apply to you.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Legaviv only for personal, lawful purposes. You must not:

Library availability shown in Legaviv can be delayed or incomplete. Always confirm details in your library’s official catalog before visiting or placing a hold.

4. Intellectual Property

Legaviv, including its name, branding, and app design, is owned by Legaviv or its licensors. Book metadata, cover images, and catalog information may be provided by third parties and remain subject to their rights and terms. You retain rights in content you lawfully provide (such as notes or tags you create), and you grant Legaviv a limited license to process that content solely to operate the service for you.

5. Limitation of Liability

Legaviv is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legaviv and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost books, travel costs, or library hold issues arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Legaviv in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) zero dollars if Legaviv is provided free of charge.
